Vale - Wally Robertson 1923-2024

Woori Yallock Football Netball Club are deeply saddened by the loss of former 1947 player Wally Roberton (101 years).  Wally passed away on the 29th of November 2024 at Ocean Grove.

Wally was the last remaining player to have played in the 1947 grand final against Healesville.  

On the 22nd of July 2017 we played our 1000th game and we flew our 1947 remaining players Wally Robertson and Albert (Sel) Rowe to the ground via helicopter.

I'm sure those that were at the luncheon remembered Wally's speech about how he had broken his leg towards the end of the first quarter, a door was ripped off the building and used as a stretcher he was then put in the back of a ute and transported to the Yarra Junction Hospital.

He had us all entertained with his stories.
