This weekend, club legend Joel “LINGY” Adams runs out for his 361st senior game for the Woori Yallock Football Netball Club — officially breaking the all-time senior games record held by Trevor Selby.

From pulling on the black and yellow as a 9-year-old in the Under 10s, to becoming one of the most respected and loyal senior players our club has ever seen, Lingy’s journey has been nothing short of incredible.

A member of the 1999 Under 11’s Grand Final side, Joel chose loyalty when many others would have left — stepping straight into senior football when there was no Under 18s competition and never looking back.

Since then, he has built a remarkable career:

 4 x Senior Premiership player (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014)

 Senior Best & Fairest winner in 2015

 4 x League Team of the Year selection

Senior captain for 4 years

 And now… the club’s all-time senior games record holder.

But stats alone don’t define Lingy.

He’s been the ultimate teammate, competitor, leader and clubman — courageous on the field, humble off it, and someone who has represented Woori Yallock with pride every single week he’s worn the jumper.

Through every bump, bruise, win and loss, Lingy has always fronted up for the club he loves. Players like him don’t come around often.
